PM instructs to determine duties of ministries for realization of targets in power sector

Prime Minister Imran Khan has instructed the authorities to determine the duties of all related ministries for the realization of the set targets in the power sector.

As per the details, PM Khan was chairing a meeting held regarding electricity prices. The reduction of circular debt was focused more.

It was informed in the meeting that electricity consumers will gain an advantage from the reduction of around 325 billion rupees in the circular debt due to the target set for the next two years.

The briefing was given on the proposed strategy to monitor electricity prices and reduction of circular debt.

Apart from that, a strategy has also been proposed for further checking transmission and distribution losses.

The premier said that as the previous governments neglected the aspect of curbing transmission and distribution losses as well as improving flaws in the system, and its burden is being faced by people.
