Former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani has requested the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to dismiss the disqualification petition against him.

As per the details, Gillani has requested ECP to declare the petitions against him as inadmissible. He claimed that the allegations made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government are baseless.

He also called Parliamentary Leader for Railways Farrukh Habib and Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Justice Barrister Maleeka Bokhari the ‘habitual claimants’. He claimed that the case was lodged on unauthentic videos.

Earlier in March, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has heard the petition seeking disqualification of former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani.

The plea was filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after the senate chairman election. The case was heard by a four-member bench headed by Altaf Ibrahim Qureshi. Central deputy secretary-general of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Farrukh Habib and member of National Assembly (MNA) Maleeka Bukhari appeared before the court.
