The fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic is intensifying in Pakistan and the rate of positivity rate has increased to more than 7.5 per cent.
According to Coronavirus statistics website (covid.gov.pk) in Pakistan, 49,947 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, of which 3,752 were positive while 32 people died.
The official portal stated that the COVID-19 positivity rate in the country during the last 24 hours was 7.51%.
According to the official portal, the number of deaths from Corona in the country has risen to 23,048 and the total number of cases has reached 1,08,446.
In addition, 1641 patients have recovered from Corona in 24 hours across the country, bringing the total number of recoveries to 927,599 while the number of active cases is 57,799.
Minister for planning and National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) Head Asad Umar total vaccinations carried out so far now exceed two and a half crores.
In a Tweet, the minister wrote, “Total number of people vaccinated has now crossed 2 crores. Further acceleration is being planned for August. By the end of August, all major cities target is to have at least 40% of the eligible population vaccinated.”
