
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Sunday announced a historical Ramadan Package worth Rs8 billion to provide relief to people of the province during the holy month.
Usman Buzdar said essential commodities would be available to the people in Ramadan markets at the prices of 2021. A 10 kg bag of wheat flour would be available for Rs375, he said.
“At agricultural fair price shops, 13 items including potatoes, onions and tomatoes will be available at prices less than the regular market. Rs1.25 billion subsidy will be given to sell vegetables, fruits and lentils at cheap rates in the Ramadan markets,” he said adding that 317 Ramadan bazaars would be functional from Sha’aban 25 across the province.

The bazaars would begin at 9:00 am and continue till Iftar, he said. He said the government had provided the relief package to provide relief to the weak segments of society during the holy month.
The chief minister said a special mechanism of monitoring had been devised to deliver fruits of the package to common men.
He said he would himself monitor the Ramadan package.
