ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri on Monday said the federal cabinet had decided to declassify the threat letter.
Waving the letter, the NA deputy speaker said the letter was in his hand. Amid hooting from the people sitting in gallery of the assembly, he said the National Security Committee (NSC) had termed the no-confidence motion against the then prime minister Imran Khan a foreign conspiracy.
He said Pakistan was threatened in the letter, which was sent before submission of the no-trust motion. A threat was given that serious consequences would have to be faced, if no-trust motion failed, he maintained.

Imran Khan had talked about free foreign policy, he said. He asked if Quaid e Azam Muhammed Ali Jinnah had made Pakistan for slavery. “The PM” was punished because he did not accept slavery, he said.
Qasim Suri said he was sending the letter to the chief justice of Pakistan on behalf of the National Assembly. “For God’s sake, we all will have to think about it as Pakistanis. If someone is hurt because of my any statement then I seek pardon,” he said announcing boycott of election of the prime minister.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi also boycotted the session.
Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday rejected the petition seeking a probe into the alleged threat letter and to place the name of former prime minister Imran Khan on the Exit Control List (ECL).
As per details, IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah, while delivering the verdict, maintained that the petitioner had tried to make the cable controversial.
Not only this, the court has also fined the petitioner Rs 100,000 which has to be submitted within 15 days.
