Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Thursday said the threat letter was a clear interference in the internal affairs of Pakistan.

Talking to the media in Islamabad, he rejected the impression that the document was fake saying a judicial commission could be constituted to probe it.

Meanwhile, talking to the media persons outside the Supreme Court in Islamabad on Thursday, Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif has said restoring dignity of the parliament and transparent elections were important for the country.

He expressed the confidence that the apex court would soon announce verdict in the suo moto case regarding political situation, in view of the adverse impact of current uncertainty on the economy. He said because of wrong policies, there was poverty and unemployment in the country.

The United States was “closely” monitoring the situation in Pakistan and supported the country’s constitutional process, a State Department spokesman had said on April 1 when asked about Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement that a “foreign country” was working with the opposition to oust his government.

“Well, we are closely following developments in Pakistan, and we respect (and) we support Pakistan’s constitutional process and the rule of law,” Spokesman Ned Price had said in reply to a question at his daily press briefing.
