The petition seeking the inclusion of the former Prime Minister’s name in the Exit Control List (ECL) will be heard today by the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Athar Minallah.
The names of Fawad Chaudhry, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Qasim Suri and Asad Majeed have also been requested to be included in the ECL.
What is a stop list?
The FIA introduced a “stop list” system in 2003 to prevent unwanted individuals from trying to leave the country in the shortest possible time, as it takes a long time to get one’s name listed in the ECL.
