ISLAMABAD: General Secretary Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Sindh and Former Federal Minister of Finance Miftah Ismail said that since federal government employees’ salaries were raised a couple of months ago, the incumbent govt is not raising them again.

He took to Twitter and clarified that there is no U-turn, the salary issues will be considered in the next budget.

“Meanwhile, we raised the pensions of retired govt employees. I hope this clarifies any confusion,” Miftah added.

Earlier, newly elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a 10 per cent increase in the salaries and pension of government employees and raise the minimum wage to Rs 25,000.

Sharif made these announcements while delivering his first speech after being elected as the 23rd Prime Minister of Pakistan.
