He said the Frontier Constabulary also played an effective role in maintaining law and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and merged tribal districts. On the occasion, the commandant Frontier Constabulary briefed the interior minister about the work and scope of the force.
Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said his party would file a petition against the government in the apex court on Monday.
“They fired teargas shells on peaceful protestors. They tried to crush a peaceful protest. We will ask the top court if we could hold a protest or not,” Imran Khan said talking to media in Peshawar. He was flanked by PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi and another senior party leader Dr Yasmin Rashid.
He said the PTI never did politics of anarchy and they had decided not to form an armed wing in their party. The PTI had been holding peaceful protests for 26 years, he maintained. Hopefully, the SC would allow them to hold peaceful protests, he said.
