Visitors urged to follow traffic rules to avoid road mishaps in Murree

The Rawalpindi administration has urged the visitors and tourists to strictly follow traffic rules to avoid traffic congestion and road mishaps while going to Murree and other hilly areas during the Eid holidays.

The district administration has deployed 860 police officers and 150 officials of Tourism Police to facilitate the visitors and tourists.

People from across the country including twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad are visiting parks and other adjacent picnic places including Murree to enjoy pleasant weather as yesterday’s rain has reduced the temperature.

The chief minister also ordered the concerned officers to take necessary steps for controlling traffic mess being reported in different points leading towards hilly areas of Murree.

A large number of tourists are travelling towards Murree and faced multiple issues on roads due to traffic jam.

The CM restricted the authorities not to charge extra money at the tourist spots and said that the ignorant ones would be dealt with as per the law.

Shehbaz said that in case of complaints from any region in Punjab, strict action would be taken against the ones responsible.

He directed the administration to take out-of-the-box measures to provide the best facilities to the tourists and to implement the special traffic plan to keep the traffic flowing in Murree, other historical and recreational places and cities.
