Attorney-General of Pakistan (AGP) Ashtar Ausaf was presenting arguments on behalf of the government in the case.
The Supreme Court said the government should maintain a good governance by making the appointment under transparency. Nobody should be provided an unnecessary benefit in NAB chairman’s appointment neither a foreign party should have an involvement in the process of appointment, the CJP remarked adding that in the past such practice had been witnessed.
He said the NAB should not be under any pressure to bring up a case and if it felt any pressure then it should write to the apex court in this regard.
