
KARACHI: The Sindh Home Department on Tuesday announced to ban display of weapons across the province for 60 days.
During this period, Eid ul Adha, local bodies elections phase 1 and 2 would take place. According to the notification issued in this regard, Section 144 has been imposed by the Home Department on display of weapon.
“Since Eid ul Adha is approaching, so weapons should not be displayed,” said the Home Department.
On the other hand, Senior Land and Anti Encroachment Director Bashir Siddiqui launched a crackdown on plastic bags in different markets of Karachi’s district South, on directive of Administrator Karachi Murtaza Wahab.
Thousands of plastic bags have been confiscated from different shops.

The senior director warned shopkeepers that their shops would be sealed if again plastic bags were found in their shops and legal action would also be taken.
Meanwhile, health experts have prepared an advisory for protection from the Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF), also known as Congo virus, ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.
The National Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad, has prepared the special advisory to provide information to medical professionals and general public.
The possibility of the infection increases during Eid-ul-Adha due to countrywide transportation of cattle and increased human contact with animals.
“In the wake of high disease transmission and risk due to anticipated increased human-animals interaction during upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, it is imperative to be vigilant about the situation and take necessary steps to interrupt the transmission of CCHF,” the advisory said.
