Three children among four killed as Karachi receives first Monsoon rain

Three children among four were killed as Different localities of Karachi on Wednesday night received the first rain of the Monsoon.

A large area of the metropolis plunged into darkness when around 350 KE feeders went trip.

The first Monsoon shower turned into a curse for Karachiites as the civic administration utterly failed to handle the situation.

Rain water accumulated on roads in various neighborhoods of the metropolitan, causing traffic jams and creating problems for commuters. The highest shower was recorded at the Karachi airport.

A strong storm hit the city before rains started in the areas of North Karachi, Shadman Town, Buffer Zone, Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, Gulshan-I-Iqbal, Gulzar-e-Hijri, Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Malir, Old Karachi Airport area,  Super Highway and other adjoining areas.

However, the rain turned the scorching heat weather pleasant.

Rain is expected in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa, Potohar region, central and south Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
