Foreign Office had earlier provided the schedule of handing over the documents to the US mission in Islamabad. This came amidst reports that the president was reluctant in providing a time frame for receiving the documents of the ambassador.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar has rebuffed reports and urged exercising due caution reporting on diplomatic matters and strictly avoiding speculative reporting.

Responding to media queries, the spokesperson stated that the credentials ceremonies for incoming Heads of Diplomatic Missions are held according to State and diplomatic protocols.

“Such ceremonies are scheduled in consultation with the relevant Missions and in conformity with existing diplomatic practices and procedures,” he said, adding that the credentials ceremony will take place in the near future.

David Blome is the first US full-fledged ambassador designated to Islamabad in four years. He is a career ambassador and seasoned diplomat. Blome will lead the US mission in Pakistan in ongoing efforts to deepen connections between the two countries.

Turkish Ambassador-designate of Türkiye Mehmet Paçacı will also present his credentials and discussed Pakistan-Turkish relations.
