QUETTA: Corps Commander Balochistan Lieutenant General Asif Ghafoor on Saturday visited the flood-affected areas of District Lasbela including Tehsil and Lakara and met the flood victims.

GOC Gwadar was accompanied by Corps Commander on this occasion, said Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The GOC apprised the Corps Commander about the problems faced by the people in the affected area and the relief measures taken by the Pakistan Army.

Commander Balochistan Corps Lt Gen Asif Ghafoor said that almost the whole country was suffering from a lot of problem at the moment due to flood and rain.

Lt Gen Asif Ghafoor assured the flood victims that the government, civil administration and forces of Pakistan were taking all possible steps to rehabilitate the victims.

The Corps Commander also visited the relief camp and the free medical camp established by the Pakistan Army.

He also issued necessary instructions regarding the timely solution of the health and malnutrition problems faced by the flood victims

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the flood-hit areas of Balochistan to get latest update and meet the troops involved in rescue and relief efforts.

The military’s press wing said the army chief said the safety and welfare of flood victims is the first priority of the armed forces.

“The safety and well-being of our countrymen come first. We will reach every flood-affected person and will not rest until victims have been provided relief and rehabilitated,” the army chief was quoted as saying.

COAS Bajwa said the people of Pakistan are the first priority and they will not leave them alone in this difficult time. He also met troops busy in relief operations and lauded their efforts in service of men, women and children in distress.

The army chief visited Goth Sadori tehsil Lakhda of district Lasbela. He met and shook hands with the rain victims. He also visited the relief and medical camps in the area. He met the troops engaged in relief work and appreciated their efforts.

The army chief instructed to utilize all available resources. He said the armed forces should support the civil administration for rescue, relief and rehabilitation operations.
