
US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome visited Torkham border.
ISLAMABAD: PTI leader and former human rights minister Shireen Mazari has objected to Unites States Ambassador to Pakistan visiting the Afghan border areas.
In a tweet, Mazari said the “US envoy & his gang flying over sensitive areas of Pak on way to Torkham” and surveying land where they received official briefing and red carpet welcome.
“Areas ordinary Pak citizens cant go! Blome Viceroy in all but name & arrogance writ large? One more US regime change conspiracy agenda item fulfilled!” she added.

Earlier this week, US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome visited Landikotal and Torkham border during a visit to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The US Embassy confirmed the visit saying that Ambassador Blome visited the Torkham border to see this unique border in action.
It also quoted the ambassador as saying, “I learned a lot about the people-to-people & business connections throughout the region that are important to keeping commerce flowing.”
Inspector General Frontier Corps (North) Major General Adil Yameen received Ambassador Blome at the Khyber Rifles helipad in Landikotal. The ambassador drove to the check-post at Michni where he was briefed on the current border situation.
Brigadier Taimur of 11-Corps, Lieutenant Colonel Ammair of 101 Wing and Commandant Khyber Rifles Col Rizwanullah Nazir briefed the ambassador on the border situation.
The US ambassador thanked the Pakistani border officials for keeping the border open for passengers and goods transportation. He later drove to the officers’ mess in the Landikotal army garrison where he had lunch and also visited the historical photo galleries.
Later, Ambassador Blome flew back by helicopter after his visit to the Pak-Afghan border.
