ISLAMABAD: The case on the petition for Imran Khan’s disqualification in the Tosha Khana reference was heard at the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) headquarters on Thursday. The case was heard by a five-member bench led by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, BOL News reported.
According to the details, Khalid Ishaq was present in the place of Mohsin Shahnawaz Rajnha, who was the petitioner, and for Imran Khan, Barrister Ali Gohar was present in the place of Barrister Ali Zafar during the hearing. Imran Khan’s lawyer claimed that the documents were not provided to them for the case.
Barrister Gohar said that Imran Khan is not a member of the assembly, to which the ECP head remarked, “according to the documents he is still a member. It is said on the record that the Election Commission is not accepting resignations, but we accepted all the resignations that were received by the Election Commission,” said the ECP chief.
Sikandar Sultan Raja remarked, “to do speeches, go to the TV channels, but here, only talk about the law. We have to give the verdict in these 30 days.” The ECP bench agreed to give records to the PTI lawyer and the case was adjourned till August 22.
