ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of the contempt  case of ECP and Chief Election Commissioner till November 10.

The hearing of the contempt case against Imran Khan, Asad Umar, and Fawad Chaudhry of the Election Commission and Chief Election Commissioner was held. Advocate Anwar Mansoor appeared on behalf of Pakistan Tehreek Insaf(PTI).

During the hearing, Anwar Mansoor said that there is an adverse action issue in this case and the notices have been issued by the Secretary Election Commission but not by the Election Commission.

He said that until this issue is resolved, this show cause notice is illegal and the show cause notice is also signed by DG Law.

He said that there is a hearing in High Court on October 31 and a later date should be fixed.

On this occasion, Member Nisar Durrani said that the Election Commission has issued a notice and the Secretary has not given notice. He said Secretary only informed.

 

Anwar Mansoor said that Asad Umar was coming with him but received a threatening call at night and he has no security.

Member Nisar Durrani said that we will have no way after November 10 to frame the charge, to which Anwar Mansoor said that the Election Commission is not a court.

Later, the Election Commission adjourned the hearing of the case till November 10.
