The convoys to join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) –led march has been reaching Rawalpindi while the PTI key leaders have been addressing the marchers gathered to support the cause.

Imran Khan has landed in the city but will take some time to reach the spot designated for the rally. Security has been beefed up in light of any possible threat to the PTI leadership.

The entrances of the capital have been partially closed while the helicopter of Imran Khan was not allowed to land at the parade ground.

Islamabad administration has sealed the city and the police have blocked the roads entering the capital. More than 20,000 police, FC and Rangers have been deployed in the capital fearing possible protest by PTI.

Moreover, containers were installed at the entry and exit points of Islamabad and drones were provided to the police personnel for close monitoring. 50 thousand shells and rubber bullets were also framed to the personnel.

Faizabad interchange also partially closed, a heavy contingent of police and FC has been deployed at Faizabad Interchange.

There are also containers at Zeropoint Interchange. On the other hand, traffic on Srinagar Highway is moving normally.

Pertinently, PTI has announced a peaceful Azadi march towards the capital and the convoys have been reaching Rawalpindi from provinces.

Thousands of people and PTI workers have joined the convoys and the enthusiasm of the marchers is visible.
