Test drive of electric buses will begin from Tomorrow: Sharjeel Memon
KARACHI: Information Minister Sindh Sharjeel Inam Memon on Sunday announced that a test drive of Pakistan’s first modern electric buses is being started tomorrow in Karachi.
A new bus service is being started in Karachi by the Sindh Transport Department. This is the first electrical bus in Pakistan that will run in Karachi.
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced that new electric buses have now been brought to Karachi. Their test drive is being started in Karachi city from tomorrow. It will be Pakistan’s first electric buses that are completely environmentally friendly.
Sharjeel Memon said in the first phase, 50 electric buses have reached Karachi, which will be used in the test run of the metropolis tomorrow. He said the routes of buses will be finalized after the test run.
It should be noted that in 2021, Sindh Transport Minister Syed Owais Shah launched Pakistan’s first electric bus in Karachi. During the inauguration ceremony of which he said that more electric buses will be brought onto the city roads with the support of the private sector.
