											Chairman Judicial Activism Panel writes letter to President for removal of Governor
LAHORE: Chairman Judicial Activism Panel has written a letter to the President of Pakistan and the Prime Minister to remove the Governor of Punjab from the post.
A letter has been sent to the President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi and the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif to remove Governor Punjab Baligh ur Rehman from the post on the issue of de-notifying the Chief Minister Punjab Pervaiz Elahi and cabinet.
The letter has been sent by the Chairman of the Judicial Activism Panel, Azhar Siddique Advocate requesting that “If the governor is not removed from office immediately, the courts will be approached.”
The letter stated that the governor had exceeded his constitutional powers as the governor could not convene a new session until the pervious session was concluded.
It has been stated that no MPA has resigned nor formed any forward block and without any reason the steps taken in view of Article 130 sub-Article 7 of the Constitution are illegal and unconstitutional.
The Governor has also broken his oath. The Governor Punjab should be removed from office under Article 101 of the Constitution.
Earlier, Governor Punjab Baligh ur Rehman de-notified Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.
Pervaiz Elahi and the cabinet are constitutionally inactive for not taking the vote of confidence as per the notification and therefore Pevaiz Elahi is being de-notified.
The notification further said that Parvaiz Elahi has lost the confidence of the House and now the Punjab Cabinet is over.
