ISLAMABAD: Police have lodged an FIR of the Islamabad blast incident under sections of murder and terrorism.

The FIR has been registered on behalf of Sabzi police station’s SHO. The blast in Islamabad’s I-10 area has left one dead and several wounded.

As per initial investigations of the security institutes, it was a suicide blast and the bomber was wearing a suicide jacket containing 12-15 kg explosive material. Sources said the explosive material was not installed in the vehicle.

Sources said the security institutes have found son of the taxi driver as the bomber had hired the taxi. The driver also died along the terrorist.

Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday blamed the government for exacerbating law and order situation in the country.

In a tweet, Imran Khan condemned the suicide terrorist attack in Islamabad. He saluted the police officer who laid his life protecting precious lives and the city from big destruction.

“The law and order situation is exacerbating in the country which is a reflection of failure of the imported government and intelligence agencies,” he said.

Earlier, a blast took place in I-10 area of Islamabad that left one policeman dead and six others including two civilians wounded. The incident happened when the security officials tried to stop a vehicle for search.

As per details, a bomber blew himself up upon being stopped by the police for a search that left at least four security officials wounded.
