ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday granted protective bail to Salman Shehbaz – son of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Salman Shehbaz was granted relief by IHC in the money laundering case. He appeared before the court today along with his lawyer after landing in Pakistan on December 11 ending the exile of four years.

Chief Justice of IHC Aamer Farooq heard the case and Salman Shehbaz got protective bail for 14 days.

Earlier, the court ordered Salman Shehbaz, to surrender by December 13 while refusing his protective bail.

The lawyer of Salman Shehbaz appeared before the court and argued that his client has been living abroad since October 2018.

He also requested the court not to arrest Salman upon his return to the homeland and let him appear in court without arrest.

Salman was declared an accomplice in the money laundering case against the Sharif family and the Lahore Accountability Court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for him.
