Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has announce that he will announce the date for the dissolution of Punjab and KP assemblies in a big rally being held at Liberty Chowk in Lahore on Dec 17 (Saturday).

He said this while addressing a press conference at Zaman Park residence in Lahore on Wednesday.

He added that all PTI MNAs would personally go the National Assembly and appear before the NA speaker and ask him to accept their resignations, adding that the move would level course for the elections on 70 per cent of the seats in the country.

Imran said that he had discussed all issues including dissolution of provincial assemblies with all senior leaders of the party and completed all consultations.

The PTI chief has ended the confusion regarding the party’s stance on the dissolution of the assemblies.

It is pertinent to mention here before addressing the press conference, the PTI chief held an important session with the party’s senior leaders. Sources added that the PTI senior leaders suggested dissolving the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) assemblies on the same date.

He lamented that former COAS Gen Bajwa had given the NRO-2 to these corrupt people and handed over the government to them.

He further said that the whole world knows that Gen Bajwa has given NRO-2 to these corrupt people.

“They are returning one by one and their cases are being dissolved.”

He criticised the warm welcome given to the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Salman Shehbaz over his return. Khan said that Salman Shehbaz should tell the nation how Rs16 billion came to the bank accounts of sugar mills’ employees.”

He cast doubts over the deaths of witnesses and the investigation officer in the case.

The former PM said that he had never seen such circumstances in Pakistan before as today the most corrupt people are absolved from their corruption cases.

He quoted a book which carries a full chapter on the corruption about the Sharifs and Zardaris.

He maintained that the distances between the people of Pakistan and institutions had increased in the tenure of Gen Bajwa.

He said that the inflation had increased many folds and the poor was getting poorer and poorer. On the other hand, the big robbers are being pardoned and dry cleaned of their corruption cases.

He again appealed the institutions including judiciary and military to play their due roles for holding free and fair elections as without them, the country would severely suffer economically and politically.

He strongly condemned the arrest of Senator Azam Swati and treatment being meted out with him, adding that such serious violation of human rights have been happened even in regimes of martial law.

He also lauded the Balochistan High Court and Sindh High Court for their bold verdict and gave relief to the elderly senator.

He appealed the higher judiciary to take the notice of human rights’ violations in the country, adding they were looking towards them with hope that the politically victimized people would get respite.

He again lambasted the Chief Election Commissioner and Sindh Election Commissioner and blamed them for being biased against the PTI and him.

He further said that the CEC was hearing the only cases of the PTI and passing verdicts against them. But he has never asked the PPP and PML-N how they raised their parties’ funds.

He claimed that he has not violated any law in Tosha Khana case at all and fully followed the law, adding that the CEC has never asked the Sharifs and Zardaris about gifts, they received from the Tosha Khana and violated the law.

He said that the economic activities had come to zero, which means poverty and joblessness are on the rise.

He recalled that in the PTI government, every sector of economy was making progress but now the imported government was taking the country to default and prices of daily use food items were going out of control.

He feared that once the country goes bankrupt, it will have to pay very heavy price for coming out of the crisis

It seems that under some conspiracy the country’s economy was being destroyed, Imran observed.

He further said that oil price in the international market has gone down but the people are being given relief by the corrupt and incompetent government

He reiterated that he was going to sue the Geo and Jang group in London and Dubai for tarnishing his image.
