Qamar Bajwa asked to remove Usman Buzdar from CM’s post: Imran Khan
“I told him that there were cases of billions of rupees’ corruption...
Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that the PTI is not demanding the elections for itself but for the country as she is going default and heading towards destruction.
He said this while addressing a press conference at his residence Zaman Park, Lahore on Sunday.
He urges every institution including new army leadership to think about the country, which is going to be bankrupt.
“What is going to happen with the country, it has never occurred in the history of Pakistan before, resultantly, the country is going towards devastation”
Imran maintained that everyone witnesses that the country is going down day by day, adding that all national security institutions should see it and play their due role in this regard.
He further said that he expects the new army leadership to see the prevailing situation, which is going worse and worse with the passage of time.
He observed that the national and economic securities go hand in hand.
The PTI chairman further said that if the country was default, no investment would not come in the country, bringing devastation to the homeland.
He said whenever elections were held in the country, the PTI would sweep them as what support of the people the party enjoys, no political party does.
He further said that the PTI is not demanding the elections for its interests but in the best interests of the country.
He said that if the country was default, no investment would not come in the country.
He said when the PTI came to power, the current account deficit was $20bn but they overcame the situation and when the PTI government was toppled, the A/C was $5bn.
But the PTI government improved the declining economy despite corona pandemic, which continued for two years, he recalled.
He presented the figures and facts of his government and made he comparisons of the PML-N and PPP governments with the PTI regime.
Unfortunately, the thieves and robbers were given NRO-2, consequently, their all corruption cases are being ended, the former prime minister lamented.
He further said that what programmes including health cards, Ehsaas and others the PTI government had launched, they were acknowledged by the world.
The PTI chairman observed that the industrial production was getting lower and lower, affecting every sector of the economy.
He added that when the PTI government was toppled, the GDP was 6pc and previous year 2021 was 5.7pc.
He criticised the political parties and media house, who used to raise hue and cry over the inflation during the PTI government, are now keeping silent and become dump on the rising inflation, which stands at 24pc presently.
He maintained that no military and civilian government had not made any effort to increase the exports but the PTI regime had massively increased them, adding until the exports were not increased, the economy could not sustain for long.
He said that the dangerous thing is that the exports are decreasing rapidly, resultantly the arrival of dollars will also decline whereas the remittances also slowed down as the overseas Pakistanis do not trust the present imported government.
As long as the imported government lasts, the crisis of the country would further worsen, he feared.
He said that they want to delay the elections as long as possible so that they can get Imran Khan disqualified and registered as many as cases against him and other PTI leaders.
He never expects Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari that they hold elections as it would go against their interests.
He lambasted the treatment being meted out with PTI Senator Azam Swati and said it had never happened even in martial regimes what is being done by this governments with an elderly man.
