SHIKARPUR: A close relative of the Karachi police chief has reportedly been robbed at gunpoint, Bol News reported on Thursday.
Azizullah Odho, paternal uncle of Additional Inspector General Javed Alam Odho, was deprived of Rs80,000 and mobile phones by armed men. The incident took place on Larkana Road, Indus Highway, within limits of Nabi Shah Wigan police station.
A complaint has been lodged at Nabi Shah Wigan police station.
On December 16, Javed Alam Odho had asked citizens not to resist during snatching of mobile phones, Bol News had reported.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Additional Inspector General Javed Alam Odho had asked Karachiites to point out to police about suspicious people. He had said police had arrested 1,200 people living illegally in the megalopolis.
The AIG, Karachi, had said south police had arrested the suspect involved in the biggest robbery of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa this year. The suspect Shah Faridul Haq was arrested with firearms, he had maintained.
On the other hand, he had announced Rs0.1 million reward for SSP East Investigation, apprising that the SIU had busted a drug-peddler gang. “Two suspects have been arrested,” he had said.
The Karachi police chief had said police were monitoring drugs and the people residing illegally in the city.
He had relayed that the suspect who killed a citizen, Khalid, had been arrested in New Karachi industrial area (West Zone) along his accomplices.
