LHC issues notices to interior ministry, FIA on plea of Moonis’ wife
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday sought the details of recipients of Toshakhana gifts from 1947 till date.
Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Asim Hafeez heard the petition filed by a citizen named Munir Ahmed through his counsel Advocate Azhar Siddique.
The petition maintained that the details of the gifts of the Toshakhana must be made public. To which, the government’s lawyer said that the details cannot be made public as they are confidential.
The court ordered the federal government to submit the details by January 16, adding that it would be decided then if the details are confidential or not.
On the other hand, a district and sessions court announced the verdict on the admissibility of the petition filed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the disqualification of Imran Khan in the Toshakhana reference and declared the plea admissible for hearing.
Pertinently, the court reserved the verdict on December 12 after the completion of arguments from both sides.
The court summoned Imran Khan to appear before the court for hearing on January 9.
