PM Shehbaz Sharif arrived at residence of Chaudhry Shujaat
LAHORE: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday visited the residence of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain in Lahore.
The prime minister inquired about the well-being of the veteran politician. Federal Ministers Tariq Bashir Cheema, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, and Special Assistant to Prime Minister Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan were also present in the meeting.
PM Shehbaz Sharif and Chaudhry Shujaat also discussed the political situation. The prime minister informed about the efforts regarding the restoration of the economy and provision of relief of the people.
Chaudhry Shujaat appreciated the sincere efforts of the prime minister to get the country and people out of problems.
The two leaders agreed to make mutual cooperation effective and stronger. Both agreed that political stability and close cooperation are necessary to get the country out of the problems being faced.
The meeting is being with keen interest as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman (PTI) Imran Khan announced the dissolution of the assemblies in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on December 23.
The ruling PDM is concerned over the decision and has geared efforts to stop the move. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also convened a meeting of the party to discuss the matter.
The allied PPP has also decided to summon a meeting and discuss the future course of action over the decision announced by the PTI chairman.
PML-N leader Hamza Shahbaz condemned the decision to dissolve the provincial assemblies. He said the PTI decision to dissolve the two assemblies for the sake of one person is not acceptable.
He vowed that the ruling coalition would tackle the decision to dissolve assemblies in a legal, constitutional and political way.
He said Imran Khan had been on a mission to destabilize Pakistan politically and economically for the past several months. He also said that Imran Khan also made false accusations against state institutions.
