RAWALPINDI: PM Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday met officers and soldiers at the CMH Rawalpindi who got injured during the recent Bannu Operation at the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) complex.

PM Shehbaz paid tribute to courage and valour of the troops who cleared the CTD complex, Bannu, media wing of the armed forces, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported.

The prime minister said that the martyrs and their families had rendered supreme sacrifices for ensuring safety and security of people of Pakistan.

PM Shehbaz said, “We are determined to fight out terrorism in its all forms and manifestations and breaking nexus between terrorists, their supporters and sympathisers till achieving peaceful and stable environment.”

He said writ of the state would be established at all cost and no one would be allowed to derail the hard earned gains of war on terror achieved through unparalleled sacrifices of the nation and valiant armed forces , the PM said.

A day ago, Chief of Army Staff ( COAS) General Syed Asim Munir had visited CMH Rawalpindi and met officers and soldiers who got injured during CTD complex Bannu operation.

According to the ISPR news release, the COAS remained with them for some time and inquired about their well-being.

The army chief had appreciated their high spirits and morale and lauded their professionalism during the said operation against the terrorists.

Talking to a private media broadcast on December 20, Pakistan Army Spokesperson Major General Ahmad Sharif had said that security agencies in a successful operation had killed 25 terrorists, arrested three whereas seven terrorists surrendered, who were holding out a CTD Compound in Bannu city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Gen Sharif had further said that a clearance operation was conducted in the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).
