KARACHI: President Arif Alvi visited mausoleum of the Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah and paid rich tributes to him on his 146th birthday anniversary on Sunday.

President Arif Alvi also laid a wreath and offered Fateha at the Mazar-e-Quaid. He also prayed for the development and prosperity of the country. He, later, inked his impressions in the book of visitors.

Talking to media persons, he said that the nation should follow the guiding principles of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammed Ali Jinnah for development of the country. He said that the Quaid had already known about the discriminatory behaviour of dominant majority in subcontinent with the minorities including Muslims.

The president said that the Poet of East Allama Iqbal dreamt of Pakistan and Quaid-e-Azam struggled for its real creation. He said that the dream came true by the struggle of Father of the Nation.

He said, “We have to pursue Quaid’s guiding principles for development of the country.” He advised the nation to follow Quaid’s principle ‘unity, faith and discipline’.” He said that their real destination was to develop the nation as per Quaid’s vision.

The 146th birth anniversary of the father of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is being celebrated with renewed pledge to uphold his guiding principles of unity, faith, and discipline.

The day dawned with special prayers for the security, progress and prosperity of the countr. The change of guard ceremony was held at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi, during which a smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Military Academy Kakul assumed the ceremonial guard duty from Pakistan Air Force cadet guards. Major General Umar Naseem was the chief guest on the occasion.

The national flag was hoisted on major government buildings throughout the country on the birth anniversary of the Quaid-e-Azam.
