ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has said the sacrifices of the martyred security officials in the fight against terrorism would be remembered forever.
The president spoke to the families of the martyred personnel of police and army. He expressed his condolences over the telephone to the relatives of the soldiers of the Pakistan Army who were martyred in the explosion in Kohlu, Balochistan on December 25.
He spoke to the family members of Captain Muhammad Fahad Khan, Sepoy Asgharuddin, Sepoy Muhammad Shamoon and Lance Naik Muhammad Imtiaz.
He also talked to the family of Police Head Constable Syed Adeel Hasnain, who was martyred in the suicide blast at Sector I-10 in Islamabad.
President Alvi said the entire nation was united in the fight against terrorism. He assured the families of the martyrs of all possible support from the government. He paid tribute to the martyrs for their bravery, dedication for duty, and sacrifice for the nation.
A day earlier, President Alvi telephoned the families of the soldiers martyred in a terrorist incident in Bannu on December 20.
He spoke to the relatives of Sepoy Babar Ayub and Lance Naik Haleem and paid tribute to their great sacrifice for the motherland. He said the nation would not forget the sacrifices of its security forces and would stand with them in the fight against terrorism.
Earlier President Dr Arif Alvi telephoned the families of the soldiers martyred in various incidents in the line of their duties.
The president spoke to the relatives of Havaldar Muhammad Amir and Sepoy Nasir Khan who were martyred on December 14 in a suicide attack in Miranshah and on December 4 in north Waziristan, respectively.
He also talked to the families of Naib Subedar Qasim Khand and Havaldar Muhammad Changez Chughtai who lost their lives on November 26 in a terrorist incident in Lakki Marwat. He telephoned the father of Havaldar Parosh Khan who was martyred in North Waziristan on November 30.
