ISLAMABAD: Senior Special Magistrate Capital Development Authority (CDA) Sardar Asif on Thursday issued arrest warrant of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader and Special Assistant to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif.
The special magistrate sent the arrest warrant to SHO Bahara Kahu police station against the PTI leader for destroying natural beauty of Margala Hills in Islamabad. He directed to arrest and produce the suspect before the court on January 11.
A case against Ali Saif is subjudice since 2018 for his allegedly destroying the natural beauty of Margalla Hills. The case is registered against Ali Saif under MLR 82, Landscape Ordinance and Environmental Regulation 2008.
On January 5, an accountability court had granted interim pre-arrest bail to Haroon Yousaf, a son-in-law of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a reference of money laundering made by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Yousaf had been declared a proclaimed offender by the court for his constant disappearance in the proceedings.
Yousaf had appeared before the court along with his legal team and sought pre-arrest bail.
A lawyer had argued before the court that the NAB implicated Yousaf in the reference on political grounds as he was a son-in-law of a politician. He had said the petitioner was ready to join the investigation before the NAB but there was an apprehension of his arrest.
