CJCSC General Sahir Shamshad Mirza meets Saudi Arabia’s Chief of General Staff Lt Gen Fayyad Al-Ruwaili.
RIYADH: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza arrived in Saudi Arabia on his first official visit since assuming the post.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza arrived in Riyadh and met Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Fayyad Al-Ruwaili.
During the meeting, they emphasized on strengthening the durability of bilateral relations between the brotherly countries. The also discussed aspects of cooperation in military and defence fields along with ways to support to enhance them in addition to discussing important issues of common interest
According to the statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Defence, the military officials discussed topics of mutual interest. It added that visit is a symbol of the stability of traditional fraternal relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Earlier this month, Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan General Syed Asim Munir visited Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on his first official visit since assuming charge.
The army chief met Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman who congratulated Gen Asim Munir on his appointment as the new Chief of Staff of Pakistan Army.
During the meeting, they emphasized the strength and durability of bilateral relations between the two fraternal countries, and discussed military and defense cooperation. They also reviewed regional and international issues of common interest.
The meeting was attended by the Chief of General Staff of Saudi Arabia, Lieutenant-General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, Assistant Minister of Defence Eng. Talal bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi, and a number of Saudi and Pakistani military and civilian officials.
