QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Mir Abdul Qudous Bizenjo said Saturday that despite instruction by the prime minister, the federal government is acting deaf and mute over the financial crisis of the province.
CM Minister said that Rs 15 to 20 billion for the last financial year of the province and Rs 30 billion for the current financial year while PPL’s Rs32 billion are not being paid.
He also warned that if the federal government does not take immediate steps then the difficulties of Balochistan will deepen.
“If PPL does not pay the dues, the province will be forced to take a tough decision,” he added.
The chief minister maintained that it never happened in the past that the protected portion of Balochistan’s NFC Award has been cut off. “Our government has accelerated development works in Balochistan.”
While touching on the liabilities, he said that the province has liabilities of Rs 15-20 billion and the PPL has liabilities of Rs 32 billion.
Balochistan has so far received 30 billion rupees less in the current financial year due to which the financial crisis in the province is becoming severe. “In the coming months, we will not be able to pay the salaries of employees and development works.”
Bizenjo further said that he explained the situation to the premier upon which Shehbaz Sharif directed the concerned ministries to solve the problems and provide additional funds to Balochistan if needed.
“Despite the instructions of the Prime Minister, none of the federal departments have taken notice and our difficulties are being further increased.”
On the other hand, the money announced by the PM for the flood victims has not been received yet due to which the flood victims are facing difficulties in rehabilitation.
“Balochistan is already suffering from problems and the province is also badly affected by floods.”
