KARACHI: Police on Friday arrested five armed suspects in New Karachi Industrial Area, Karachi.

Five pistols, 20 mobile phones, cash and a stolen motorcycle were recovered from the possession of five arrested accused.

The gang was arrested at New Karachi Industrial Area. They were involved in street crimes.

The accused used to injure and shoot citizens while looting. The arrested accused were identified as Parvez, Ali Raza and Muhammad Sameer, Saeedul Rehman and Haji Tahir.

On January 19, the gang opened fire on a citizen, Haji Ijaz, at Sector 11F bus stop number five. As a result the victim got severely injured. The suspects have also admitted to looting, dacoity and injuring citizens in other areas of Karachi.

On January 7, police arrested two suspects involved in an acid attack on two sisters and their brother in Korangi Industrial Area of Karachi. The suspects were arrested in injured condition after a shootout near TCS School in Korangi. The accused were identified as Amir and Sohail.

The accused had thrown acid on the siblings the day before. SSP Korangi Sajid Saduzai said weapons were recovered from arrested suspects.
