Big development in Imran Khan’s murderous attack investigation happened as the preliminary challan of the case was submitted to the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Gujranwala on Tuesday.
Naveed, Waqas, Tayyab and Ahsan were nominated as accused in the challan consisting of more than 400 pages.
Bol News received details of the challan, which was submitted by Deputy Prosecutor General Punjab Abdul Jabbar.
136 witnesses recorded their statements and a number of charges including terrorism, murder and attempted murder were included in the challan.
The challan was submitted in the Anti-Terrorism Court of Gujranwala headed by Judge Zahid Iqbal. The challan was handed over by a member of the JIT Anwar Shah to the prosecutor.
Mr. Shah was removed from the JIT on the complaint of JIT chief and transferred to Bahawalpur. Anti-Corruption Headquarters issued a notification to him for reporting on Tuesday.
However, three members of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the murderous attack on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan were replaced after the JIT head CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar blamed the members for ‘damaging’ the case.
The Punjab Home Department has issued the notification by Home Additional Chief Secretary Capt (retired) Asadullah Khan. The new JIT members include District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ghazi Khan Muhammad Akmal, SP Anjum Kamal, and Jhang Crime Investigation Agency DSP Nasir Nawaz.
JIT head CCPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar submitted the report against the JIT members to the additional chief secretary’s home and requested to take strict action against them.
He blamed the other members of JIT for ruining the case and said that the members of the JIT leaked the secret information to social media and mainstream media and damaged the case.
After the caretaker government came to power, the JIT was changed once again.
The Home Department of Punjab replaced all the members who had differences with the JIT chief. No senior officer was included in the new JIT.
The new members include DPO DG Khan Muhammad Akmal, SP Anjum Kamal, DSP CIA Jhang Nasir Nawaz. The decision to appoint the fourth member of any department was entrusted to the JIT. A notification has been issued in this regard. The old members had raised objections against the JIT chief.
However, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) strongly rejected the new Joint Investigation Team (JIT) constituted by the federal government. PTI Central Secretary Information Farrukh Habib, in a statement the other day, said that the PTI rejected the reconstituted JIT to investigate the attack on Imran Khan.
He said that Shehbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah were also accused of this murderous attack and they were constituting a JIT for their investigation. Farrukh Habib further stated that efforts were afoot to save the skin of a powerful person behind the murderous attack. He stated that Shehbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah were also accused of this murderous attack and they were constituting a JIT for their investigation.
