Imran attacked from three sides in Wazirabad: JIT
LAHORE: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has revealed that Imran Khan was attacked from three sides in Wazirabad, claiming that it has received clear evidence of three attackers in the incident.
As per Bol News TV, the third attack was carried out by the assailant from the high-rise building at the crime scene, sources said.
They further said that the JIT had finalised a separate report over the leaking of videos of Naveed, the main suspect in the attack.
The report of leaking videos of the main suspect have been also made part of the interim challan. The report says when the JIT asked the policemen, why they leak the video of Naveed, they replied, ‘On the orders of the senior.’
However, the JIT has started preparing an interim challan in Imran Khan attack case.
It is pertinent to mention here that Imran Khan and other party leaders were injured after a man opened fire near the PTI reception camp at Allahwala Chowk during party’s long march.
According to details, unidentified assailants opened fire on PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s container near the Allahwala Chowk in Wazirabad, injuring six people and killing one.
The Joint Investigation Team also summoned the PML-N leaders and federal ministers in connection with the investigation into the attack on Imran Khan but they did not appear before the JIT.
Sources said Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, and Javed Latif refused to join the proceedings of the JIT at Capital City Police Office in Lahore on December 17.
However, the JIT recorded the statements of three PTI leaders including provincial ministers Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Zubair Khan Niazi, and Umar Farooq. The JIT also decided to investigate Faisal Vawda.
The Punjab government had directed Faisal Vawda to appear after investigating while the JIT had also directed Faisal Vawda to appear along with the records. But he did not appear the JIT either.
Vawda addressed a press conference on October 26 and said that the Azadi march would witness bloodshed and deaths.
The joint investigation team had also summoned 35 other PTI leaders including Hammad Azhar, Imran Ismail, Omar Sarfraz Cheema and Faisal Javed.
