Once again Karachi tops list of most polluted cities across world

• Karachi stands first in the list of polluted cities globally
• Lahore stood second with 209 pollution particles
• The cities remain hazardous for citizens

KARACHI: Metropolitan city stands first in the list of the most polluted cities in the world, while Lahore has been declared the second most polluted city in the world.

The cities were declared first and second as per the report of the Air Quality Index.

The amount of pollution particles in the air of Karachi is 233 particulate meters, while the pollution particles in the air of Lahore are 209.

Meanwhile, the atmosphere of Karachi and Lahore was declared hazardous for the citizens.

According to the classification, pollution from 151 to 200 levels is harmful to health, while pollution from 201 to 300 levels is counted as extremely harmful to health.

Notably, levels above 301 indicate hazardous pollution and health experts have advised respiratory and asthma patients to be cautious.
