ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar said Thursday that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) remained failed in conducting transparent LG polls in Karachi and demanded to declare the election null and void.
He was addressing a presser underscoring the maneuvering carried out during the electoral process when said that the rigging started the same day in the morning at the polling stations and PTI notified the nation.
Asad Umar said that attempts were made to steal the mandate in Karachi.
He while explaining what happened at the polling stations said that those who were making videos of the rigging were arrested and tortured by the police.
Asad Umar claimed that the results were delayed for over 38 hours deliberately so to influence the results.
He maintained that the mandate has been stolen and those protesting against it were arrested and FIRs were lodged against the members of PTI and the parliament.
The PTI leader also underscored the plight of Karachi saying that the city is deprived of water, and the most tax-paying city is getting nothing in return.
“This has been done by proper planning and Karachi is deprived of its basic rights.”
He while slamming the ECP and Sindh government said that PTI rejects the results and demanded that ECP officials should resign from the posts, declare the polls null and void, and must go for new LG elections in Karachi.
