Robbers looted 2 million worth of gold in Paposh Nagar
KARACHI: Unidentified suspects on Friday looted gold worth Rs2 million from a jewelers shop in Paposh Nagar area of Nazimabad in Karachi.
Initially, the police denied the incident but a CCTV footage obtained by Bol news clearly shows the incident place, where four suspects arrived on motorcycles at the gold shop. The suspects were carrying guns with them.
In the video it is visible that two of the four armed robbers entered and looted the shop. The shopkeeper later asserted that they were looted of Rs2 million worth of gold.
On January 10, former international snooker player Muhammad Bilal, who had come to Karachi from Punjab for a national tournament, was robbed at gunpoint in Karachi, Bol News had reported.
Bol News had obtained surveillance camera footage of the incident that took place a couple of days ago in Mehmoodabad.
The gang of eight armed robbers had made more than 20 people, including the famed snooker player, stand in a queue at the snooker club and looted them at ease. The suspects had covered their faces with masks, while entering the snooker club.
The suspects had continued robbing for about six minutes. They had collected mobile phones and wallets from everyone, put them in a bag and fled away.
On January 7, Karachi Police Chief had expressed helplessness in controlling the rising street crimes in the city.
