LAHORE: Police have nominated seven more suspects in the case of three school girls bullying and assaulting their classmate at a school in Lahore.

Police launched a probe into the incident that occurred in a private school in Defence where three minor school girls allegedly bullied and assaulted their classmate.

Police have named seven more people in the case including the school administration and those who filmed the incident. The case was highlighted after a video of the incident went viral on social media.

The victim girl’s father nominated three school girls – Jannat Malik and Kainat Malik (both sisters) and Umaima Qaiser – for attacking his daughter Aleeha Imran.

Police said all nominated persons have been investigated. The accused girls have been included in the investigation after they secured pre-arrest bail.

According to reports, all suspects appeared before the police and recorded their statements. Police have also formed an inquiry team on the incident which has not yet submitted its report.

On Saturday, a sessions court granted interim pre-arrest bail to the three girl students in a case of torturing their class fellow.

The Defence-A police station had registered the FIR against four girls on a complaint of the victim’s father. The girls were students at Scholar Dale, American International School situated in Defence BB, Phase IV.

The three suspect girls appeared before the court along with their counsel. The lawyer, in his arguments, denied the allegations against his clients and said the whole story in the FIR was fabricated.

He said the petitioners were minors and had been implicated in the case by the complainant with mala fide intention

He asked the court to allow the pre-arrest bail to the petitioners as they were ready to join the police investigation to prove their innocence. After hearing the arguments, the court granted the bail to the petitioners till Jan 30.

The complainant alleged that one of the suspects was a drug addict. He said the suspect girls assaulted his daughter on refusing to join them taking drugs.

He said his daughter had made a video of the suspects while using drugs in the school, which also offended them.
