KARACHI – Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman has undergone surgery in a private medical facility in Karachi. Sherry Rehman is now undergoing additional treatment.

Reports in local media suggest that the 62-year-old suffered injuries in one of her arms as she collapsed while taking a stroll at the beach on Sunday. She has also fractured her leg. An X-ray diagnosed a bone fracture in her leg.

It was reported that the medical procedure was performed on the PPP stalwart in wake of the damage she received after the fall, however much about the procedure and injury remained under wraps. Doctors advise Sherry Rehman to take complete rest.

Sherry, known for being the female leader of the opposition in the Senate, is reportedly at the hospital and will be discharged as per the physician’s advice.

Minister for Climate Change underwent surgery, days after PPP leader and provincial minister Sharjeel Memon survived a heart attack and was admitted to NICVD for an angioplasty.

Earlier, Rehman was selected by Forbes in its list of Asia’s 50 over 50, she had made global news at the 2022 UN Climate Change Conference (COP27)

Senator Rehman garnered global attention when representing Pakistan at the climate summit where she proposed a new agreement to transfer funds from wealthy nations to developing nations that had experienced natural disasters connected to climate change.
