Vote of confidence should be taken before Jan 11: Imran Khan

• Imran Khan assigned party leader for trust vote.
• Speaker Sibtain Khan and Usman Buzdar was given the task.
• A session of the Punjab Assembly has been called on January 9.

LAHORE: Former prime minister and Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has instructed the party leaders that a vote of confidence should be taken before January 11.

Chairman PTI Imran Khan has assigned the task to the party leaders on the issue of the trust vote of Chief Minister Punjab.

Sources said that Speaker of Punjab Assembly Sibtain Khan, Parliamentary Leader Usman Buzdar, and Senior Provincial Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal was given the task.

Provincial Minister Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid, and Chief Whip Syed Abbas Alamdar have also been assigned responsibilities.

Imran Khan instructed that the party leaders should complete the process of contacting the members of the assembly soon, after the vote of confidence, further steps will be taken according to the party’s decision.

Chairman PTI Imran Khan further said that the process of contacting the members should be completed in the Punjab Assembly session to be held on January 9.

Apart from this, it is stated in the party report that currently three members will not come in the vote of confidence, and three members may go against the party policy, at this time PTI and Q-League have the support of eighty-one members.

On the other hand, a session of the Punjab Assembly has been called on January 9, in which a vote of confidence is likely to be taken by the Chief Minister.

After the approval of the Speaker Punjab Assembly, a new notification was issued changing the date of the meeting of the Punjab Assembly to be held on January 11.

According to the newly issued notification, the next meeting of the Punjab Assembly will be held on 09 January 2023 at 2 PM.
