DALBANDIN: Two hundred Afghan refugees have been given tool kits for sun driers and kitchen gardening after training them for 45 days to earn livelihood at their doorsteps in Chagai district.
The training and tool kits were given by Innovative Development Organization (IDO) with the collaboration of Planning and Development Department Government of Balochistan funded by World Bank under the Balochistan Livelihood and Entrepreneurship Program (BLEP).
BLEP’s District Coordinator Aftab Baloch and IDO Coordinator Atiq Badini along with representatives of UNHCR and Afghan Commissionerate distributed the tool kits.
Addressing the ceremony, Mr Baloch and Mr Badini said the BLEP was being carried out in eight districts of Balochistan where Afghan refugee families were being enabled to earn livelihood and bread their dependents at their doorsteps.
They said under the BLEP 4000 Afghan refugees including women were being trained to carry out kitchen gardening, sun based food drying and poultry farming to gain easy opportunities of livelihood.
