NEW YORK: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will arrive in New York to attend an event regarding Women’s Rights in Islam on March 7, Bol News reported.
Bilawal Zardari would be accompanied by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar. Pakistan would preside over the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting in the United Nations as a chair.
Hina Rabbani would assist the foreign minister in the women’s conference. It is pertinent here to mention that it is Bilawal’s fourth visit to the United States in a year.
The diplomatic sources have not revealed how long Bilawal will stay there during this visit. Bilawal would reportedly have some private meetings as well.
He will visit Washington also and call on important personalities including in the State Department.
The Pakistani community’s crucial personalities have expressed unhappiness over the FM’s visit. They said Khar’s participation in the women’s event would have been enough.
“The foreign minister of Pakistan should have mercy on the nation and limit his visits. In the current situation of Pakistan, non-beneficial visits and expenditures are gravely unsuitable,” the sources said adding that Pakistan could not bear such tours.
The community sources said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman came to the US on his personal political agenda which was condemnable.
