ECP decides to impart training to use Result Management System

• Operators would hold exercises of RMS use in 145 constituencies
• ECP had issued a notification in this regard to election commissioners
• Provincial ECP has issued a list of the operators performing duties

KARACHI: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to impart training to use the Result Management System (RMS) to its employees, Bol News reported on Tuesday.

The ECP decided to hold mock exercise for one day on the old RMS prior to the provincial election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The ECP KP has sent a letter to all the regional election commissioners. The training would be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Tuesday (today).

The operators would hold exercises of RMS use in 145 constituencies of the provincial assembly. The ECP had issued a notification in this regard to the regional election commissioners on February 23 as well.

The provincial ECP has issued a list of the operators performing duties on the RMS machine. The notification directed to ensure implementation of the ECP guidelines.

The ECP has already issued protocols to all the provincial election commissioners and district election commissioners.

“If issue is faced while entering data in the machine, then the relevant election officer should report it,” read the notification directing to prefer the important temporary exercise and present suggestions as well. All the operators had been sent user name and password for the exercise.

The sources said the election commission had given a contract worth millions of dollars to modify the RMS. They said the ECP had decided to hold elections in both the provinces through the same RMS which was used in 2018 general elections.
