JHELUM: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Fawad Chaudhry was given a warm welcome after he arrived in his hometown Jhelum after being released from jail.
This is his first visit to his native area after being released from Adiala Jail on bail in a case for allegedly making threatening remarks against the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
On arrival, a large number of PTI workers gathered to welcome him at the Toll Plaza as he arrived in the city. They showered rose petals and they received Ladhar House in the form of a grand rally.
After reaching his residence, Fawad Chaudhry addressed the workers and thanked them for their support. He lashed out at the federal government for targeting PTI leaders for political vendetta.
“The imported government has made it impossible for people to live. This government is targeting the PTI for political revenge,” he said, adding that fabricated cases were lodged against many leaders including him.
He said PTI chairman Imran Khan has started the ‘Jail Bharo’ movement to fill up prisons as part of agitation against the government. He said they are always ready to present themselves on Imran’s call.
He once again slammed the election commission and said the electoral body is a “puppet”. Fawad alleged that he was subjected to torture in a fabricated case.
He said the imported government has bankrupted the country and the only solution to the current economic and political situation is holding general elections.
