A person was killed when an IED exploded in Bannu.
PESHAWAR: A man was killed and two others were injured in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Police said the IED was planted in a motorcycle and detonated near Bakakhel Mandi area, killing a man and injuring two other.
The deceased citizen was identified as Khan Muhammad, son of Saifullah, while Arif Khan, son of Shayer Khan, and Zahid, son of Zair Muhammad, got critical injuries.
Police cordoned off the area soon after the incident and started a search operation to arrest the persons involved in the incident. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital where their situation was stated to be stable.
Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Deputy Speaker Zahid Akram Durrani strongly condemned the deadly bomb blast.
Expressing their deep sorrow and grief over the tragic incident, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and extended heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families.
They acknowledged the pain of the aggrieved families and stated that the sacrifices made by security personnel would remain alive in people’s hearts.
The Speaker and Deputy Speaker also vowed to deal with the terrorists, who were enemies of humanity, with iron hands.
They called for punishment of those who work on the nefarious agenda of the enemy in accordance with the law.
