LAHORE: Former Punjab chief minister and Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader Parvez Elahi on Tuesday said people would laugh if the Toshakhana case was broadcast live, Bol News reported.
Talking to media in Lahore, Parvez Elahi said Imran Khan gave him more respect after joining the party. Toshakhana case was a comedy programme, he said adding that Khan has kept appearing before courts from time to time.
He also said that the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) was cogitating about holding general elections. To a query, he said if his audio leaks had come out then they should go to court against him. “The time of jails and troubles has passed,” he maintained.
Parvez Elahi said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was not a leader. To another query, he said they had ties with all the politicians.
On February 21, Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi had officially joined the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) along with close aides.
Former chief minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had made the announce while addressing a press conference along with PTI senior leader Fawad Chaudhry after meeting Imran Khan.
Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry had welcomed Elahi in the PTI. He had said PTI would give the central president slot to Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Chairman PTI officially would announce that very soon.
He had welcomed Pervaiz Elahi in the party and hailed him for making a lot of sacrifices. “After lengthy discussions, the senior leader and other leaders have finally decided to join PTI today,” he had said.
