PML-N leadership does not want elections: Aitzaz Ahsan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People Party (PPP) leader and former opposition leader of the Senate Aitzaz Ahsan said that Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, and Rana Sanaullah do not want elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A special meeting was held in the Senate in connection with the Golden Jubilee Celebrations, on the proposal of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, the Senate meeting was converted into a Committee of the Whole.

Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani said that this struggle will continue for the promotion of a balanced democratic system while Aitzaz Ahsan said that the house of another politician is being raided at the behest of a civilian politician.

The former opposition leader of the Senate, Aitzaz Ahsan, said in his address that the Senate is playing a very sensitive role, the Senate can create balance in all units, currently, there are many deprivations in Balochistan, in the explosions in Balochistan and the attacks on the Hazara community. He said Senate should play its role in this regard.

Aitzaz Ahsan said that there is no political solution with the forces or security agencies. He said shells are falling near his house in Lahore. He said they are standing behind us today and they will be behind someone else tomorrow. He said this is a matter of grave concern for us.

In response to a question, Aitzaz Ahsan said “I do not support anyone, the constitution is not being respected in the country, Imran Khan is being attacked today, and Nawaz Sharif will be attacked tomorrow. I will stand by PML-N chief .”
